Thinking God's Thoughts: Thinking About God: How Should We Speak to God?

When we talk to God (or about Him) how should we do it? Do we speak to Him just like we are speaking to anyone we may know? And what about the saying, "Be careful what you pray for or you just might get it?" How does God teach us to think about that?
